SENIOR PARTNER JOB DESCRIPTION
TITLE: Senior Partner
REPORTS TO: Case Manager/Executive Director, Montezuma County Partners, Inc.
GOAL: To provide consistent support and friendship to an at-risk youth, male or female, aged 8 to 17.
TIME COMMITMENT: At least three hours a week for a minimum of one year in a one-on-one setting with a youth (Junior Partner)
PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS: 21 years of age or older, local resident for at least six months, ability to drive, have own transportation, have a telephone, recovering from any past substance abuse for at least one year.
APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS: Completed application form; law enforcement check of: fingerprints, driving record, Central Registry of Child Abuse; also photocopy of driver's license and current proof of automobile insurance; 4 completed reference forms; interview and training.
ACCEPTANCE PROCEDURE: All applicants' files are subject to review by the Case Review Committee of Montezuma Coutny Board of Directors. Applicants will be notified of acceptance.
DECLINE PROCEDURE: Per program policy, a volunteer applicant can be declined by any one staff member or Board member, without reason being given. Per program policy, declined applicants are not given reason for their being declined. These policies are in place to protect the best interest of the children involved in the PARTNERS program.
GRIEVANCE PROCEDURE: Any grievance or concern should be presented first to the Case Manager. If the grievance or concern involves the Case Manager or you are not satisfied with the outcome, then the issue should be presented to the Executive Director or the Chair of the Board of Montezuma County Partners.
DUTIES:
Fulfill requirements of commitment: at least 3 hours a week of one-on-one contact with your Junior Partner.
Initiate and maintain regular contact with the PARTNERS Case Manager overseeing your match; weekly for the first 3 months, biweekly for the last 9 months.
Attend at least 3 Senior Partner Only (SPO) meeting during the year of your match.
Do at least one Community Service Project with your Junior Partner during the year of your match.
Keep in touch with other agency workers involved with your Junior Partner, contacting the referring person within one month of the match.
Attend a minimum of 6 Partners activities with your Junior Partner during the year of the match.
Attend at least 6 Life Skill Activities with your Junior Partner during the match.
